Our Kids..Noor Ahmed and Mahreen

Almost all parents are proud of their children and yet hesitate to talk about them. This is one of the human behavior of avoiding unseemliness. But then a time comes when you not only talk about them but live for them. I have four kids. The last one is a boy named after my father who passed away in 1996.Noor Ahmed Jr. was born to us three years later in Belleville (French name meaning Beautiful City). Mahreen Lakho



And yes we jumped with joy to name him after my dear father. Some back home in Sindh, as is human nature did not like it, but have grown used to the name and love him more than any one else. He is top in his class. Likes Star Wars, Harry Potter, an Indian Film actor
who has six fingers in his right hand, I do not remember his name even. I too have six fingers but they are in my left hand.
Noor Ahmed speaks Sindhi when forced to. He has suddenly got interested in his roots after returning from Sindh in December last year and says he will go back to Sindh when he grows up . Mahreen is going to be ten years old.She gives tough time to everyone. Has started doing well at school. She specializes in being stubborn for she thinks we got her as a Colateral Kid. She and her other two teen age sisters may be correct. But not any more !
